[RL with Azula]

Aradia sat down on the sofa and beamed at Azula, rummaging in her sylladex with one hand as she searched with her ouija fetch modus for her DVD. She was pretty sure she'd saved some of her collection, though much of it had been destroyed.

"It's nice to get a break from the game once in a while. Thanks for inviting me over, Azula."

Aradia smiled as Azula began to doze off, stroking the other girl's soft hair as she continued to watch the movie. She didn't try to rouse her when the movie ended, switching off the television with the remote and sitting comfortably where she was. She didn't need to sleep, of course, but she was content.

About fifteen minutes after the end, she woke again. "... Did I miss the end? I'll have to watch it again sometime. Do you want to see a human movie now?"

Aradia giggled. "I can leave the disk with you if you want to watch it again," she said. "Are you sure you want to watch another movie? If you're sleepy, you can go to your 'coon. I don't mind."

"No, I'm fine. Movies just make me tired." Azula got up and went over to the shelf where Cuddy's DVDs were kept, pulling out Saving Private Ryan. "What's a coon?"

Aradia popped her DVD into the case and left it beside the television, so Azula could watch it later if she wanted. "A recooperacoon?" she clarified, frowning. "It's where trolls sleep. You don't use one?"

She shook her head. "We use beds."

"Oh beds! Of course," Aradia grinned, shrugging. "I guess humans don't need 'coons. Well, either way." She paused, anticipating Azula's next question. "Recooperacoons are pods filled with sorpor slime. The slime helps to protect us against violent dreams, because trolls do tend to have more than our fair share of those. It's good for keeping us balanced."

That made her pause in putting the DVD in the player. "Trolls know how to stop bad dreams? Does it work on humans?"

Aradia blinked. "I don't know. You could try it, if you want? I'm sure you could try out one of the 'coons at someone's hive." She smiled wryly. "I'd offer mine, but it was destroyed."

"And the rest weren't when your world was destroyed?" She was curious. Her nightmares came and went in terms of intensity, and right now she was in a period where they weren't all that bad... but still, it would be nice to get rid of them entirely, forever.

Aradia shook her head. "Everyone's hive and the area immediately around it was transported into the Medium along with them. Mine was already destroyed, so it just pulled in a bunch of rocks and a few holes in the ground. But everyone else still has their hive, though they tend to be filled with imps."

Azula considered. "Would just borrowing some of that sopor stuff work, do you think? I'm not sure if I really know any of the trolls well enough to ask to spend the night in their hive."

"No reason why it wouldn't," Aradia said with a thoughtful smile. She could understand not wanting to spend a night in any of the hives of those Azula seemed to hang around with - particularly since her first choice might be Vriska. "The 'coon is really just a comfortable den to sleep in, and hold the slime. We trolls like to be all wrapped up nicely in a dark, moist place to sleep."

"Maybe I'll try that, then," she replied, finally putting in the DVD and re-joining Aradia on the couch. "It definitely wouldn't hurt to try-- and while slime isn't really all that appealing, it's at least better than nightmares."

"Just don't eat it," Aradia said with a wry twist to her mouth as she settled back in with Azula, slipping her arm around the human girl's shoulders. "I do adore Gamzee, but I think it's fried his lobestem."

"Is that what's wrong with him?" she asked. "I'd wondered."

Aradia giggled. "Yes, that's it, I think. He cooks the sorpor slime into pies and says they make him see miracles." She shrugged. "Not for me, but I guess he enjoys life that way."

"... I see." Sort of, at least.

As the opening to the movie started up, Azula fell silent. She even lightly (if still somewhat awkwardly) rested a hand along Aradia's back. The robot girl's impromptu affection had been surprising at first, but she was a little more used to it now.

Aradia shrugged again, then focused on the movie as well. She could sense Azula's awkwardness with touch, but so long as Azula claimed she didn't mind the snuggling with a robot, Aradia felt it was just sort of like Sollux - she just wasn't really used to it, and nervous of screwing up. And she was just fine with that.

It took less time for Azula to start dozing through this one-- it was later, and she was more tired. Luckily for her, she'd seen it before, so she wasn't missing anything new.

Aradia, on the other hand, was rapt with attention. It was strange, watching a movie with no idea what to expect, full of humans with human ways of interacting, but it was fascinating, and exciting, and she ate up every moment of it.

Less inhibited while asleep, Azula's head eventually dropped onto Aradia's metal shoulder with a tiny clunk. She frowned and stirred, but didn't wake up.
