Aradia sat down on the sofa and beamed at Azula, rummaging in her sylladex with one hand as she searched with her ouija fetch modus for her DVD. She was pretty sure she'd saved some of her collection, though much of it had been destroyed.

"It's nice to get a break from the game once in a while. Thanks for inviting me over, Azula."

"I'd like to see yours, actually." She peered at Aradia. "... How did you do that?"

Aradia blinked, then recalled that Willow hadn't known what a sylladex was, either. "It's my sylladex," she said brightly. "It's how I carry my inventory. Mine has a ouija board fetch modus, which means the spirits give me what they think I need when I try to retrieve something from it."

"Interesting," she said, still looking at Aradia curiously. The DVD had looked like it had just come out of nowhere. "Vriska mentioned that once; she seemed surprised that I didn't have one myself. I'm assuming they're common on your world?"

"Everyone's got one," Aradia said, nodding. "Though everyone programs it with a different fetch modus that they think is useful or the most fun. Willow didn't know what it was, either."

"That makes sense; Willow's from an Earth." She turned to put the disk into the player. "How do they work? Where do you carry everything?"

"It's carried in the sylladex." She cocked her head. "It's like a computer. When you load a file into a computer, it goes in the memory, and you use a program to access the file. But if you open up the box, you won't see a bunch of files. The computer box doesn't get heavier if you have lots of files."

She grinned. "That's exactly how it works."

"And then it comes out as an actual object," she said slowly. "That's fascinating. I've never seen anything like it."

"Really?" Aradia shook her head with disbelief. "Well, how do you carry things around, then?"

She shrugged, turning back to go sit on the couch as the movie started up. "Hands, pockets, bags. I suppose it's less convenient."

"That does sound like a pain," Aradia said thoughtfully. "But I don't know how to teach you to create yourself a sylladex. I tried to figure it out before when I realized Willow didn't have one."

She settled back on the sofa to watch, her shoulder bumping companionably against Azula's.

Azula didn't seem to mind-- she fell silent as well, giving her full attention to the TV screen.

She had to admit, it was an interesting and engaging movie. There were a lot of action and fight scenes, which she was always fond of. None of the violence phased her in the least... though she did keep an eye out for anything that might seem like it was heading up to a beheading.

Aradia knew the movie by heart, and squeaked with excitement in the moments leading up to her favourite parts. A few times, she mouthed the words along with her hero, and made whipping motions with her hands.

As the unfortunate water-dweller climbed the steps into the temple, she quietly put an arm around Azula's shoulders, covering her eyes with one metal hand the moment before the blades whipped out to sever the man's head from his shoulders.

Azula stiffened a little at the unexpected touch, but she supposed that she didn't really mind, so she quickly relaxed. Though her eyes were covered, she still closed them.

"... It's a silly thing to be affected by," she muttered, feeling a little embarrassed. "It's not like it's real."

"It's not real," Aradia said gently, lowering her hand, but leaving her arm around Azula's shoulders. "But if it bothers you, it bothers you."

She raised an eyebrow, trying to look nonchalant. "In any case, I should try to get over it."

"Yeah," Aradia said, a little distracted by the climax of the movie. She watched, snuggling cautiously with Azula until the credits began to roll, then looked at her moirail again. "Why does it bother you so much?"

"A while ago somebody kidnapped Lisa and ripped her head off in front of the entire community," she said flatly, doing her best to show no emotion. "It turned out to have been a trick and she was all right, but still."

Aradia's jaw dropped, and her arm tightened around Azula's shoulders. "That's awful... I'm glad she was okay. Did you get that person?"

"Not yet." She kept the same tone of voice, but added a determined edge to it. "But I will. Defeating him is the entire reason why I'm fighting for the Vatican."

Aradia nodded and leaned over a little, resting her head affectionately against Azula's. "I know you will," she said. "And I'll help you, too."

"His powers are literally godlike," Azula replied. "I've fought him before. He reached into my chest and put his hand around my heart. He would have killed me, but Lilith stopped him." She paused for a second, almost shuddering at the memory, before continuing.

"There are very, very few people who are anywhere near as strong as he is."

Aradia stiffened a little at the description, then gave her a squeeze. "All the more reason for me to help," she said firmly. "I'm getting lots of levels going through the game so many times. I'm strong, and I'll help keep you safe, Azula."

Azula shrugged her unoccupied shoulder. She didn't really believe that Aradia would be able to do anything, but still, she supposed the offer was... nice, all the same. She gave the other girl's head an awkward little pat. "Thanks."

"... Do you have any more of those movies?"

Aradia beamed and straightened up, reaching out to run her hand through the air as if working an invisible ouija board. A moment later, another disk dropped into her hand. "The sequel! There are four in all."

"Do you want to watch another one?" Though she wasn't a film fan overall, Azula had to admit that these were at least somewhat entertaining and exciting.
